Dandelions by Eve Bunting Literature Response by Jake
Dandelions is about a family moving to a new home. They are going to an empty field and traveled to a far house. They go to buy stuff from the town. The mom is sad because she did not want to leave her grandma and grandpa's house far away from their new house. Then the two girls silently went on the roof and put the dandelions on the roof. Mom was happy to see the dandelion.
Eve Bunting is telling me that moving to a new home is kind of scary because they are leaving their stuff behind at their old home. The mom was scared to move because she had a sad face on.
Eve Bunting does a fantastic job helping me paint pictures in my head. One girl said "I hoped maybe one dandelion might lift its head for us". I could picture the dying dropy dandelion lifting up.
I like this book because when they move to a new town they got to know new people.
